Caroline Devenish-Meares was born in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland and arrived in Australia in the sixties with her parents. As a school girl, her goal was to join the police force. This was exactly what she did. This lead her to meet the love of her life, her husband Rochford Devenish-Meares, an ex-Australian Rules football player for Hawthorn and Subiaco. Caroline and Rochford have two daughters Rachel and Ranin and a son Leycester.
The family have lived in Melbourne, The Kimberley and in Perth. Rochford now has Parkinson Disease and Dementia. Caroline is a strong believer in the power of words. Through experiences in the death of her son and husband’s illness, she wants to spread kindness and comfort in times of grief with the power of words.
